In our centenary year we鈥檙e introducing a brand new music bursary. The bursary aims to support talented young people to continue to learn and grow as musicians, performers and group leaders.
Each bursary is worth 拢600 and students will receive:
- a series of one-to-one lessons for their instrument or voice
- recital鈥痑nd masterclass鈥痮pportunities
- in-depth鈥痶raining鈥痑nd鈥痩earning opportunities鈥痜or how to lead鈥痬usical groups鈥痑nd conduct鈥痚nsembles
- event management鈥痶raining
- musical鈥痗areer development鈥痑dvice.
Dan Miller, Head of Music says:
鈥淎ll too often I鈥檝e seen incredibly talented musicians arrive at university and have to make seriously tough decisions about their financial priorities. Student loans barely cover the essentials, so music lessons slip out of reach.
"With this new bursary, I want to ensure that as many musicians as possible continue to keep music central in their lives, develop their talents and progress on a positive pathway."
